Things to do in your garden in May

May is the busy time in the garden, whether is vegetable garden or flower garden. there are so many much to do in the month of May.

Refresh/plant your Hanging Baskets

It is time to refresh  hanging baskets. you can fill them with geranium, bidens, verbena, calibrachoa, petunia, annual phlox, or other flowers, hanging baskets require minimal care to keep them looking great all summer.

Prune Shrubs

It time to prune those shrub which flowering early like pussy willow, forsythia, azalea, and lilac. Best to use pruning shears instead of Hedge trimmer.

Planting out summer bedding plants

Start planting summer bedding plants like Sweet peas, Begonia, Busy Lizzie, Geranium, Antirrhinum, Lobelia, Petunia, Rudbeckia, Californian poppy, Cosmos etc

Look after finished sprint bulbs for next year

Let the foliage to die down, do not cut back. add liquid fertiliser all around the clumps. This will give you an even better display next spring.

Increase your watering regime

Best watering early and late to get the most out of your water
