Nicholas/Nick Dearnley tradining under various business includes OT Build and Refurbishment LTD and D P Construction (nw) limited (11910364) and used to be a director of JD Events LTD. (07653236).
He is operates around North West UK (mancheter, warrington, merseyside, cheshire) taking on building work (not qualified for), he asks to be paid up front for work, then either he will not complete the work(messed it up) , or will not order any material (ran with the money) or order the wrong materials not what specified by the architect/ Structural engineer drawings.
I have reported him to trading standard and looking for anyone who he has done this to contact me info@myproffs.co.uk, as Nick need to be stop from taking people hard earning money and pretending to be a builder.
He took over the job to installed support beam (to hold the whole back of my house). The beam was sliced in a wrong place (not what was specified by the structural engineer) the vertical beam was not attached to existed wall (no support). He left without welding steel joint, some of the bolts were loose , above the steel wasn’t packed causing one side of the top floor to dropped slightly, there were missing bolts. Inspector failed the work and had to pay structural engineer again to come and do the calculation. Had to pay another builder to implement the new structural calculations.
He also claimed his company do roof as well, requesting over 6K upfront , he ordered wrong timber C16. The drawing specified C24 and the roof pitch need to be minimum of 15 degree rear side and 17 degrees on the side. The pitch he did was about 10 degree (which was failed straight away by the inspector). See the image below.
Even then he still requesting money for fuel.
He also moved the stair window up, which he completely messed up. See the image below, this is how he left, couldnt even cut the brick straight and call himself a builder.
He left my home is a very bad state, caused a lot of stress. didn’t not answer the phone when contacted him .. after contacted trading standard then he contacted me saying he will pay in instalment from end of February 2024 , to today have not made a single payment.
He is a liar, he even tried to make a false claim to his insurance NIC. Claiming his tools got stolen from his car in my drive-way.. I have lived in the property from over 4 year it’s a safe place to live. he need to be stopped from doing building work.
