Sourdough Dinner Rolls

This no-knead recipe for sourdough dinner rolls makes delightfully soft, pull-apart rolls with amazing flavour. Serve warm with a smear of butter for a perfect side for any meal. these sourdough rolls take a bit longer to make but the end result is well worth the effort in taste and texture.

Ingredients

The Polish or Sponge:

  • 100g sourdough starter
  • 100g Strong white bread flour
  • 100g water
The Main Bread recipe:

  • The polish that was made previously
  • 550g Strong white bread flour
  • 250g Milk (full or semi skimmed)
  • 1 medium size egg (beaten)
  • 30g sugar
  • 20g vegitable oil
  • 8g salt

 

 

 

 

 

Method

The polish or Sponge

In a small bowl add  100g water  and 100g sourdough starter and mix well then add 100g flour and mix together. cover your bowl and  leave on the kitchen worktop in a room temperature until it become bubbly and active. this can take anywhere from 4 to 6hrs depending on the room temperature of your house.
